Morning has broken. It's quiet in the desert. We had no connectivity with the rest of the world, so all we had was ourselves. It was a great trip for unplugging from the nonsense of the online world.
I loved the various dunes drifted against the rocks
camel tracks
giraffe drawing
cattle
people and animals
fossils in a rock face
a little sand accumulation on the back
lizards
we were taken through these cool gaps in the rock carved out over the centuries
looking up
it's a dead end...
...so turn around for different angles and different light
Driving into and out of a dry creek bed. I'd hate to be stuck out here during the rainy season.
small giraffe or giant dude?
lunch table in the shade
lunch music and traditional tea which is poured back and forth to add air and froth
Tents were setup early so we could run over to some dunes to climb and watch the sunset.
Heading to the dunes for sunset.
Large quantities of sand are beautiful when they're sculpted by the wind. It's well worth filling your shoes with sand to climb them. I didn't go barefoot in the cooling sands like other people.
This stark beauty was all around. It was wonderful!
That's a huge rock below us where the sand moved around it instead of covering it, which was a curious thing. The picture doesn't show the scale. I think it was at least 2 stories tall. It was hard to tell how big without going down there and that would have been a long climb down and back. Here's another angle and different light.
our driver and guide chillin'
the sun is set, so it's time to head back to camp for dinner, music, and desert dreams
