Reykjavík Iceland

The final entry about our wonderful 2-week trip to Iceland is about Reykjavík. This is where we started and ended our ring road adventure. People said the city wasn't that interesting and it's better to be elsewhere in Iceland. The city is fine and we liked our time in it. There's stuff to do even if it isn't as grand or interesting as many other European cities. However, don't make a trip to Iceland to visit the capital and miss out on the real reason to be there.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula Iceland

Iceland has great coastal views to soak in. It's great to just be on the Snæfellsnes peninsula and look around. It'd be a good day trip if you're short on time and already checked out the Golden Circle region. For us, it was icing on the cake to finish our two week drive around the Ring Road. That's the best way to experience Iceland.

Bogota Street Art

I don't like annoying tagging and sloppy spray paint is ugly. However, street art is a whole other thing if it's good and in the right places. It shouldn't detract from what's already there. Bogota has some nice street art in La Candelaria. They're not spread all over the city in places you wouldn't want to see it, so overall I think it's an interesting part of the city where it is. There's a guided walking tour available but we had plenty of time to relax and explore on our own. We stumbled on most of the street art in our regular walks around so here's some of that. There's a particular walking street at the end of Plazoleta Chorro de Quevedo worth checking out for a variety of reasons.

London

It was another midweek holiday and another opportunity to take 2 days off and be out of work for 5 days. This time my nearby European trip was London. I've always wanted to visit and it's just a 2 hour flight from Stockholm, so why not? Life has a time limit so I still plan on doing as much as I can while I can.

I saw lots of touristy things in 4 days of wandering using the London Underground. There's still so much more to see and do that I'll have to go back several times to feel like I've seen it all. Maybe I'll even try to get posted there some day since it's one of those cities I just enjoyed being in. I took hundreds of photos so it's hard to pick out representative samples but I'll try...
