We met some of our family in Orlando for Halloween during R&R. It was an intense week of amusement parks and so much fun!
The big Orlando amusement parks, or theme parks, have more immersive environments surrounding the themed rides and stores as compared to the Six Flags park where I used to work when I was a teenager. Six Flags parks are good, but Universal and Disney are a higher level.
Universal is awesome for all of their rides. They're probably better for older kids to get the most bang for your buck. The two Harry Potter areas had some of our favorite rides while being a cool place to soak up the atmosphere of the movies.
Disney has a great variety of things for everyone in the family. They had a fun Halloween party event for the kids that was entertaining enough for everyone else too. Star Wars and Avatar's Pandora had some of our favorite rides at Disney with wonderful immersive environments. The Star Wars area was so good that I had to wander through it again at night to see how it looked in the dark.
