Our road trip to Mt Rushmore from Texas required driving for a day through some seemingly uninteresting areas of Kansas and Nebraska. We still managed to find a few things to see along the way with a little rest stop.
We saw the infamous largest ball of twine which continues to grow. The geographic center of the continental United States wasn't too far north of that wonderful ball of goodness. Finally, the absolute best stop of the the day was Carhenge. It's in Nebraska as we were approaching South Dakota. Yes, it's an accurate recreation of Stonehenge using cars and they recently started letting artists paint murals on them instead of just leaving them grey.
