Home Leave Road Trip - Wichita & Lindsborg Kansas

We're back in the U.S. for home leave between overseas assignments, so we had a bit more time for a longer road trip. "The purpose of home leave is to ensure that employees who live abroad for an extended period undergo reorientation and re-exposure in the United States on a regular basis." (3 FAM 3430) We often follow the intent of that policy by exploring new parts of the U.S. each time.

We sometimes do a little road tripping from our house in Texas, so I decided it was time to see Mt Rushmore during this home leave. Here's some pics from Wichita and Lindsborg Kansas along the way. Lindsborg is a cute little Swedish influenced town even though there's very few Swedish speakers left. They trace their roots to Sweden and have a museum about it.

a storm was coming...

We stayed at the very cute Dröm Sött Inn (Sweet Dreams Inn), which was a great hotel with a delicious Swedish breakfast buffet. We highly recommend it!
