Bordeaux France is a two hour direct flight from Algiers. It's a great long weekend getaway. I made a 4-day weekend using vacation time so we could get a little break in the middle of December. We got our usual museum infusion. There was a big Christmas Market that was fun to check out along with the holiday lights of the city.
Here's some images from around town before hitting some of the museums with the City Pass. The City Pass is good for at least the first visit to see a bunch of the places included on it with unlimited tram rides. The tram system here is really good. It's a pleasant way to get from the airport to the city for cheap.

A high tech wine museum sounded cool and and parts of it was interesting. However it was also annoying to share some of the interactive exhibits with others. It wasn't easy even though it was a slower Sunday in December.
The tap to trigger the narratives in your headphones would often start in the middle of a short discussion because someone else already triggered it. You either listen several times to get the whole thing or try to wait for people to pass so you can be first to trigger it. It just wasn't worth the trouble on a two or three minute narrative.
I'm a techie, and the idea of this museum is cool, it looks cool outside and inside, but the reality of it was less than ideal. It's generally worth going once, but I definitely don't need to go again. Here's just a little bit of it.

Bassins des Lumières
An awesome live art display of Salvador Dali with Pink Floyd music. It's an old submarine base with walkways over water. The projections on old walls reflecting on the water made for a very cool environment. If you've done these kinds of art displays then this is the same but on a whole other level. There's also two other immersive video rooms.
