5th tour is... Colombo!

 Next stop is Colombo, Sri Lanka!

Colombo is the executive and judicial capital and largest city of Sri Lanka by population. It's on the west coast of the island nation.

Sri Lanka is in the Indian Ocean, southwest of the Bay of Bengal, separated from the Indian peninsula by the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk Strait. It shares a maritime border with the Maldives in the southwest and India in the northwest.

We're looking forward to living and exploring this fascinating place full of natural beauty and a long history. It's an island of beaches, mountains, and lush vegetation. It even has safaris. It's a predominately Buddhist country, but it also has some diversity of religions and cultures. It should be a great place to live and experience.

We're also excited to move to this neighborhood of the planet. We'll be close to India and closer to Southeast Asia so we can more easily explore some of that area as well.

Colombo is a 3 year tour with 2 R&Rs and 15% hardship differential, so it's not as much of a hardship as Algiers according to the compensation. I think this will end up being the sweet spot between too nice and too hard or between comfort and adventure. The journey continues!
