The Dambulla Village Tour is an immersive cultural experience in Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, highlighting traditional rural life. The tour features a scenic bullock cart ride (cart drawn by oxen), a traditional catamaran boat trip, chena cultivation visits (slash-and-burn cultivation), and a home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch. (Google)
We saw these ox carts of tourists going down the road and I thought that the tour might have just been driving around town that way. That ended up being a small part of the tour and the experience was better than it looked from the road.

Buddhist Temple - Sigiriya
This is the very tall white Buddhist statue that we saw from the top of Lion Rock. It was a nice quiet retreat with only a few tourists.
Dambulla Golden Temple
This Buddhist temple was full of tourists and the gold doesn't fit the typical looks of a temple. Our guide says it looks like a Chinese restaurant to him and he didn't care for it. It was interesting to see, but I agreed that it just didn't feel right for a Buddhist temple.
