Iceland has Falls, Columns, & Caves, Oh My!

I haven't seen so many different waterfalls in a two week period. We wondered how many variations of the waterfall theme could possibly exist. Some were near the road and some required a hike. Every single one of them were different and worth it.

This first one was close to the parking and was a great start to an amazing day of sights. Fortunately there were toilets near many of the parking lots after all of the water flowing inspirations. Many areas of Iceland look like an alien world and this is one of those beautiful areas.

Seljalandsfoss Falls

Gljufrabui Waterfall

You can pass through this crack on some stepping stones that you can't really see here. Trust me, they're there and mostly above water and generally stable. It wasn't obvious that it could be done until someone else did it. Well, if everyone else is doing it then...

it's a bit misty in a gap with a waterfall

Skógafoss Waterfall

This is still the same day. There were so many waterfalls on the map in this area that we didn't see and some very cool stuff after the waterfalls.
