Bali - Uluwatu Temple

We moved from Ubud to a more expensive resort on the coast in Uluwatu for a couple of nights. We wanted to see other things and end the trip closer to the airport. We visited Uluwatu Temple to watch the sunset for the first night.

Here's a few things we saw during the drive from Ubud to Uluwatu.

Our eco-friendly resort looked amazing for the two nights we stayed there, but we were glad that we didn't stay longer because reality wasn't as good as it looked.

Our little bungalow was an open-air building with jalousie or louvred windows for ventilation. The bed had an A/C system that blew cool air on us which was somewhat held in by the mosquito netting. However, it was barely enough to keep us cool on the highest setting.

The bathroom was amazing looking, but it was rather hot since the air was open to the outside. You needed a cold shower after you took a cold shower if you stayed in the bathroom for too long during the day.

The architecture and views were amazing since the resort was built on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

the white thing in the middle and installed over the bed is the A/C system

I enjoyed listening to the ocean and the view from our porch

there's natural light behind the sink and mirror from an opening to the outside for the real plants - it's a very cool sink, but the bathroom gets hot because of this

the shower had a wooden floor and water drained between the boards

we had to watch out for monkeys roaming the resort

another place crawling with monkeys and they grab your stuff if you're not careful

We missed getting tickets for the fire dance performance, but we could hear it as we watched the sunset from a better vantage point on the cliff to the right of the stage. It didn't sound like we were missing much and the reviews for these dances are a bit mixed.
