Djanet Algeria Day 3

We continued our journey east to the edge of the open desert. We ended the day with the most stunning views from the highest sand dune that I've ever seen and have definitely ever climbed.

Djanet Algeria Day 2

Morning has broken. It's quiet in the desert. We had no connectivity with the rest of the world, so all we had was ourselves. It was a great trip for unplugging from the nonsense of the online world.

Djanet Algeria Day 1

We went deep in the Sahara to Djanet Algeria for five days of camping, prehistoric rock art, sand, driving, food, more sand, and even some live music. It was an amazing adventure as our time in Algeria comes to an end this summer.

Ghardaïa Algeria Day 2

Day 2 of Ghardaïa Algeria to see the oldest small town in the area and a have some tea in the Saharan desert dunes while watching a wonderful sunset. This was a great little weekend trip.

Ghardaïa Algeria Day 1

 

Ghardaïa is located in northern-central Algeria in the Sahara and lies along the left bank of the Wadi Mzab. We arrived at the small airport in the evening.

Orlando FL

 

We met some of our family in Orlando for Halloween during R&R. It was an intense week of amusement parks and so much fun!

Carlsbad Caverns & Roswell NM

 

We used our last R&R trip from Algiers to visit home. We made a shortish road trip to New Mexico to visit Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell. We may as well stop by Roswell if we're driving all the way to Carlsbad so that's what we did. Here's some interesting things we saw on this little trip.
