Staro Rīga

More than 40 objects are on display at the Light Festival Staro Rīga 2018 this weekend. It's spread out over all of the city so here's just some we were able to get to and enjoy last night. The festival is is a part of Latvia’s Centenary celebration of 100 years since the founding of the Republic of Latvia.

"The Festival has been taking place now for 11 years and it has grown over this time, becoming internationally recognizable to local residents, tourists and among illumination artists as well. Artists from France, Germany, Portugal, Japan and the Netherlands are taking part in it this year."

Here are videos of this multiscreen projections, music, and light in the trees

This is some kind of Latvian rap music and light show on a building

This is a really awesome multimedia show on 4 large TV panels moving around on robotic arms!

A huge projection on a building

This one is really cool with the music and floating fish controlled by puppeteers

you can sort of see the puppeteer at the bottom right

This is a long show projected on the bank

It was a cold but very cool night (in the slang sense) taking in the artistic lights!
