Budapest Városliget Park and Vajdahunyad Castle

Városliget Park or City Park is a wonderful place with Vajdahunyad Castle. I really love this castle because it's an intentional mashup of old styles.
Vajdahunyad Castle was built in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition which celebrated the 1,000 years of Hungary since the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin in 895. The castle features copies of several landmark buildings from different parts the Kingdom of Hungary, especially the Hunyad Castle in Transylvania (now in Romania). As the castle contains parts of buildings from various time periods, it displays different architectural styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque. Originally, it was made from cardboard and wood, but it became so popular that it was rebuilt from stone and brick between 1904 and 1908.
First, we took the M1 line which is the third oldest metro in the world from 1896.

Outside of this station is Heroes Square and the city park.

the front is impossible but the backside is less crowded

Here comes the castle! I love the look of castles. Did I mention there's a castle in this park? The following pics all of the way to the end are of all parts of this castle. If you don't like castles then you should reconsider your viewpoint. If you still don't like castles then look elsewhere. Actually, look at it anyway and I think you'll grow to love castles. Castles!

this statue holding a bird looked intentional but it was a live bird

the statue feels forever faint

the light poles in the lake are for when it's an ice skating park in the winter

I couldn't stop taking pics of it. Did I mention this particular castle was really cool to see?
