Malta is a Mediterranean island nation with medieval walled cities, Knights of Malta, megalithic temples, and warmer February temperatures than Latvia. What's not to love? They were under the rule of various empires including the British, so that's why they drive on the left and English is an official language alongside Maltese. It's an easy vacation spot for English language and getting around.
We stayed in Valletta and I think it was the best choice for the ambience and restaurants. Sliema is supposed to be cheaper but I was glad to spend most of our off time in Valletta. We took 3 different Malta Sightseeing hop-on hop-off buses which will be another post. First, here's too many pictures of Valletta which served as our home for a week.
First we happened upon San Pawl Nawfragu or the Feast of St Paul's Shipwreck commemorating when St. Paul was shipwrecked on Malta in 60AD. They seemed pretty happy about the shipwreck since it brought Christianity to Malta. I don't know what the shredded paper has to do with it.

Between you and Sassa, I believe every square inch of Malta has been photographically documented! Beautiful photos ... great job!
